Introducing the Candidate Board of FSG
In this week’s Magazine article, we will introduce the new Candidate Board of FSG. The new board members are currently in their ‘candidate’ period, where the current board is assisting in the transition period. On the 15th of March, this transition will be official and the FSG Board 2021-2022 is installed. As always, the board members will be responsible for the continuation of the association and carrying out their policy.
Pieter Kraak - Chairman
Hi everyone! My name is Pieter Kraak, 22 years old and I grew up in Heerenveen. In the coming year, I will be the chairman of the 2021-2022 board. In my spare time, I like to do outdoor sports with friends; like cycling, sailing and running. After high school, I moved to Groningen, started rowing at Aegir and began with the BSc International Business. This program was very interesting, but it turned out to be a little too theoretical for my liking. Therefore, in the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, I did my minor in Finance. After this full-time board year, I plan on acquiring the MSc Finance. I first got acquainted with the association during an Investment & Accountancy Evening. I immediately liked the atmosphere and the people who make the association awesome. Afterwards, I took part in the Risk Advisory Inhouse Days Committee, which is currently the Advisory Tour. Last year I took part in the Magazine Committee, where we write financial articles about current topics. What I am most looking forward to this coming year is meeting interesting people, improving soft- and hard skills and, most importantly, having a lot of fun!
Evan ten Hoeve - Vice-Chairman
Hello everyone! This is my introduction to all of you but I'm looking forward to meeting you all as well in the oncoming year. I'm Evan ten Hoeve and I come from Joure. I'm 22 years old and almost finished with my Bachelor Degree in International Business. As I wanted to expand my knowledge outside of my studies I started to look into possibilities outside of my usual bachelor program, therefore I started with helping to organize the Risk Conference. This was so much to my liking that I decided to take the next step and go for a board year at the new association FSG. This of course has many challenges with it where I can expand my knowledge and experience a lot. Also doing a board year expands my stay in the beautiful city of Groningen. With the past corona year, I was worried to move on too quickly from my student time. Therefore, doing the board year extends my study period and I hope to show as many people as possible my enthusiasm for the city and the university. This enthusiasm I can ensure to have within FSG already have a look into the grown-up world. FSG has created a bridge between student life and adult life for me. I hope we as a board can do this for many others to follow in the oncoming year. Furthermore, my hobbies are driving my moped, having fun ideas and executing them. (This can vary from going to Delfzeil out of the blue or setting up a bike repair shop for friends) Thank you for reading and I hope to see you all soon!
Selien Brandse - Secretary
Hi, my name is Selien Brandse, 20 years old and born and raised in Markelo. I am the Candidate Secretary of the FSG 2021-2022 board. In my spare time, I like to play tennis at TAM. Currently, I am in my third year of my Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with the track Accountancy & Controlling. In the past three years, I did various committees at different associations. Last year I joined PM, because I wanted to get to know more people and to get in touch with different companies. I really enjoyed all of these committees. By doing committees I have learned a lot of the social aspect and I have developed and gained knowledge about different things of my career. In my board year, I want to continue to develop my soft- and hard skills. Thereby I am looking forward to meeting you all. Despite the COVID-19, we are going to make an interesting but outstanding a fun year!

Hendrik Kuik - External Relations
Hi everyone, my name is Hendrik Kuik. I am twenty-three years old and I am the new External Relations of the FSG Board 2021-2022. Besides my study I like listening to hip hop music, running and playing football (GSAVV Forward). After finishing my Bachelor in Business Administration at the Hanze HoogeschooI, I started doing my Pre-MSc Finance in September 2020. At this point, I also became an active member of FSG by joining the Finance Society. Being an active member inspired me to apply for a position for the FSG board 2021-2022. After hearing the news that I was a part of the new board, I felt welcome straight-away. In the following weeks, I had the pleasure to meet many new people and experienced life as a board member. That was the perfect opportunity for me to get to know many active members. I hope to meet all of you in the upcoming year. All in all, the past month has been great and I will miss the time with my predecessor Sebastiaan. However, I am really looking forward to starting my board year and I hope we can make it a beautiful year together!
Annemarie de Wit - Internal relations
Hi all! My name is Annemarie de Wit and I am the new Candidate Internal Relations of the FSG board. I’m 20 years old and I grew up in Hengelo. In 2018 I came to Groningen to start my Bachelor International Business, a study I’ve thoroughly enjoyed for the past 3 years. 2018 is also the year I joined Risk because I found a pamphlet for a free pool workshop which peaked my interest. It was a really fun evening where I met some great people! Last September when I wanted to become a little more serious and career focussed, becoming an active member at Risk was the first thing that came to mind. I joined the Conference Day Organisation, which was such a nice experience that before I knew it I was having coffee dates with former board members and applying for the FSG Board. I’m really looking forward to putting together a great year with my fellow board members and if the past two weeks are any indication it is going to be a very nice year!
